Settings Engineer

JOB PROFILE:
The Company provides high-level Technical Assistance (TA) and Project Management (PM) services to transmission and distribution utilities in both the public and private sector in the UK and in most overseas markets.
The protection engineering support is encompassed within the TA services and includes conceptual design, preparation of single line diagrams and protection schematics through to the preparation of technical specifications, design audit, settings and maloperation analysis.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
CEng, MIEE
(Exceptional candidates holding HNC/HND qualifications and proven experience will be considered)
Proven technical capability associated with the design and/or application of power system protection.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in protection application at transmission voltage
levels (up to 500kV).
Ideally experience will have been gained within in a Transmission Utility, Consultancy or Manufacturing environment.
An understanding of National Grid standards and capability to fulfil a role as a Relay Settings Engineer
Must be fully fluent and able to work (communicate verbally and in writing) in English.
