Civil/Infrastructure Design Engineer, Central Southampton, Hampshire (very close to local train station) £30,000 - £40,000 + benefits.

I am currently representing a leading Consulting Engineering practice who a seeking a Civil Design Engineer to take a lead role on a major world class internationally renowned project in the West Country. Based from their brand new central Southampton offices you will take a lead role in the design and management of this pioneering career defining unique project that is due to go on until 2025.

My client is a Riba award-winning people-orientated Civil & Structural Engineering practice with a century-long track record of delivering excellence, innovation and high-quality solutions across the full spectrum of the construction industry. They have recently moved to a new plush City Centre premises.

The project is a major urban extension project that puts sustainability, ideals and principles at the heart of its design and development. The idea behind the project is to create an environment that is safer and healthier for its residents; where the pedestrian takes priority over the car; and where communities are mixed-use with workplaces integrated with housing, providing local jobs and community facilities. 

Architecture and the natural environment are at the heart of this project. A major emphasis is on the recovery and redevelopment of abandoned or neglected natural heritage. A number of farm buildings and derelict cottages have been regenerated to provide rented houses, cottages and rural workplaces.

Coupled with this internationally renowned project my client also delivers projects in the commercial, industrial, residential, retail, healthcare, heritage, education, leisure, custodial, sustainability and laboratory sectors.

The Role:

You will take on a lead role in the continuing design of this outstanding project. You will be part of the team that design infrastructure, roads, small highways and drainage. You will meet with the client and take a role in Project Management.

There are opportunities to move up rapidly into management and to build towards being a Director with the company.

Experience Required:

- You should be a competent design engineer who has undertaken detailed design in a Consultancy or Housing Developer environment who is fluent in at least one of the following packages: Micro Drainage, Windes, PDS, Civils 3D, AutoCAD.

- You should have experience of working on infrastructure development projects and/or roads, small highways, drainage.

- Knowledge of agreeing Section Agreements i.e. 38, 104, 185 etc.

- You should be qualified to Degree/HNC/HND level and/or Incorporated/Chartered.
