Our Client is looking for a Team Leader to join the team in the Andover area.

The main purpose of the job will be:
To oversee the smooth running of the manufacturing cell, by coordinating production, procurement and engineering resource to achieve delivery schedules at target cost and required levels of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
• Translate the monthly production requirement, (constructed by the production manager) into a daily build schedule and consistently meet the requirement. Ensure that this build plan is clearly communicated to the cell team and visibly tracked in the cell.
• Hold a morning stand up team meeting for 5 minutes every morning with representatives from purchasing, engineering and manufacturing to confirm the daily targets, identify constraints and allocate owners to actions to resolve any identified issues.
• Agree a standard for acceptable levels of housekeeping with the production manager and ensure that the cell is kept to this standard.
• Provide leadership, direction and a motivational influence to members of the production team.
• Maintain a detailed skill matrix and training plan, ensuring that all key operations within the cell have sufficient levels of trained resource to meet the production schedule.
• Liaise with procurement to ensure that inventory levels within the cell are appropriately managed, to avoid overstocking or line stops.
• Provide regular and accurate feedback to the production manager on all issues that may affect the performance of the cell.
• Act as a champion for all business or process improvement initiatives within the cell and actively seek out new opportunities to raise levels of performance.
• Liaise with the production manager to ensure manufacturing costs are accurately captured, understood and communicated to all cell members. Work with procurement and production engineering to create corrective action plans to address ongoing variance and reduce costs.
• Maintain personal flexibility to be able to contribute to direct labour production requirements when significant demand requires.

Salary £20000-£25000pa D.O.E
