Job Description

Responsible for the supervision of direct labour and labour only subcontractors, the successful candidate will ensure execution of all programmed and reactive works allocated by the Route Steward. Participation in winter maintenance and engineering standby and night work as required. Some weekend work will be required.

Requirements

Fully qualified and experienced supervisor desirable
Full UK driving licence
Suitable supervisory experience
Broad experience in all aspects of Highway Maintenance
Knowledge of company Health, Safety and Environment
Knowledge of current highway legislation
Knowledge of Quality systems desirable
Knowledge of Chapter 8 Traffic signs manual desired Computer literate (Word, Excel) Safety training


Responsibilities

To manage the workforce on a day to day basis
Carry out risk assessment inductions
Be prepared to be on call and cover nightshift when required
Visit work locations prior to work and assess plant, labour and material requirements
Visit work locations to ensure works being carried out to AmeyMouchel procedures and in a safe manner
Planning and programming of works, including major schemes, minor works and surfacing Oversee and monitor performance and safety of works undertaken by subcontractors
Keep accurate and up to date records in the form of allocation sheets, measurement and cost value sheets and site diary Installation of Temporary Traffic Management on Dual Carriageways with Mobile Lane Closures
Traffic Management on single carriageway roads using two or three way traffic lights
Repairs to boundary fencing Installing traffic signs
Ditch clearing and minor drainage works
Winter maintenance gritting
Some civil schemes such as patching and kerbing etc
Ensure all plant and transport under your control is kept clean and made available for maintenance
