SQL Database Administrator – B2B Financial Software –

Growing SME specialising in B2B Financial information software seek a Junior SQL DBA. This is a responsible role as you will be the only DBA within the company. You will need to be a good communicator as you will be liaising with the development team on a regular basis. For the right person we are happy for you to complete some work remotely – we believe in a good live / work balance!

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all database servers
Perform day to day administration of production environment
Performance tuning of database applications and replication
Improve scalability and availability of database environment
Building new database servers
Database maintenance – to improve performance
Advising on data protection – through security initiatives
Assistance in database design

Skills & Experience:

2 -3 yrs within a DBA role
Strong understanding of SQL Server 2005
Performance tuning and TSQL optimisation
TSQL development experience
Extensive merge and transactional replication experience
Solid understanding of SQL hardware and configuration
