Our client is looking for a Mathematician/ Statistician to join their team in Southampton, Hampshire.

Using statistical methods and using algorithms to characterise water distribution networks.

Duties will involve:
* Routine processing of data through existing algorithms to support small scale trials.
* Be a key member of 2nd generation algorithm development for characterising water distribution methods in collaboration with consultants.
* Progressing into having full responsibility for algorithm development in house, developing new and innovative methods for water distribution characterisation methods.

The role will also involve learning algorithms and Algorithm development.

PHD in Mathematical/ Statistical subject is preferred but not essential. . Our client is happy to consider a fresh graduate for the role or an experience mathematician.

37.5 hours per week, 25 days holiday per annum.

Salary between £20,000 - £40,000 Salary is dependant on skills, qualification and experience.
