A Custom Metal Fabrication Company specializing in high quality balustrading and architectural metalwork including: Stainless Steel, Bronze, Glass, Cast Iron, and Mild Steel seeks experienced estimator with diverse fabrication background.

In addition to the qualifications listed below it is imperative that the position is filled by someone who can competently represent the company while speaking with our client base of designers, architects, general contractors, and private homeowners.

• Estimating
o Proficient in reading blueprints
o Proficient in computer use for viewing bid documents and accessing plans
o Able to estimate labor for wide variety of fabricating tasks, structural, and misc
o Work with vendors and sub-contractors for pricing and sourcing
o Communicate with designers, architects, and general contractors
o Prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines
• Organization
o Detailing all the materials necessary for the contract to achieve specification
o Estimating the cost of plant and equipment
o Working with the planning engineer - a prediction of the likely progress and completion rate of the project must be calculated, bearing in mind bonus payments and subcontractual arrangements
o Calculating a final figure for the estimated cost, supplemented by adjustments for overheads and profit, and presenting a tender price
• Office and Managerial Work
o Answer phone and respond to client questions and concerns
o Daily use of email communication for bidding as well as answering any client questions
o Ability to use email programs, Microsoft Excel, Word
o Prepare contracts and quotes for clients, insure contracts are accurate and complete
o Responsible for insuring that no requests for quote have been missed and that all client calls have been answered
• Prior Experience
o Must have a minimum 2 years experience in similar role, with references
• Additional Requirements
o Ability to be flexible within a small business. Job needs change from day to day, must be able to do what needs to be done regardless of the task
o Work well with others to get the most out of your co-workers
