Hello,

My name is Robbie and I have recently moved to the New Forest area. I used to live in Essex were I was always involved in various musical projects and, having moved away from there, I am hoping to find a group of musicians to work with in order put together a new live act, mainly for enjoyment rather than profit. As this project is still in it's early stages, it doesnt matter what instrument you play. What is very important is to have an open minded approach to music and an interest in experimenting with some new ideas.

The music I am hoping to put together won't be all that conventional so bare with me and I'll try to explain a little about what I'm working towards...

I am currently writing acoustic pieces in a percussive folk style, similar to the likes of Andy Mckee, Erik Mongrain, Antoine Dufour etc. Using these pieces as a foundation, I will be introducing further elements influenced by traditional music from around the world, particularly parts of asia and africa. The structure of the songs is based on the kind of progressive soundscapes used by modern 'post rock' artists such as Sigur Ros, Godspeed you black emperor and Mono.

Now, that description may make things seem a bit vague or confusing but I find it quite hard to explain in words really. I dont intend for the music to be over complicated or rigidly structured as I am very keen on just jamminng along and allowing aspects of songs to develop naturally. In fact the main focus for me is to have fun and make some music which I hope will be both enjoyable to play and interesting to hear.
