Role Summary:
One of the UK’s leading privately owned M&E Contractors with a proven track record in successful delivery of multi-million £ projects our client is seeking Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their busy team. Ideally from a Mechanical Trades background you will possess strong commercial awareness & willingness to learn, no previous Estimating experience required as training will be provided.

With a proven track record in delivery of high quality projects they offer turnkey solutions (covering D&B & Install project delivery models) for wide range of Commercial / Industrial projects. Project values ranging from small to medium capital works projects up to large scale multi-million £ packages. Typical project values from £150k – multi-million £

The Role:
Working as part of an experienced team you will be given the opportunity to work alongside some for ht industries most knowledgeable estimators who will run through the production of bids & tenders from initial inquiry through to production of all tender documents. You will shown how to assemble quotes from suppliers & sub-contractors & negotiate contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Preparing quotations from initial inquiry to full tender documentation
• Take-offs, measurement & price from schedule of rates for labor & materials
• Ensure tenders are submitted according to deadlines
• Assist with obtaining quotes & negotiating contracts with suppliers & sub-contractors
• Attend tender meetings with client/professional team and carry out site surveys/visits as required, undertake sub contract enquiries. Also attending post tender meetings.
• Liaise with the Project Managers / Contract Managers over potential contract condition problems
• Use of Estimating packages to ensure accurate & competitive prices quoted

Background:
• Ideally you will have a mechanical trades background with previous site experience in Mechanical Building Services (plumbing, heating or AC)
• ONC / HNC / NVQ / C&G qualifications in Mechanical Engineering preferred but not essential
• Any previous experience in pricing for HVAC Building services jobs – refurb, new build & fit-out - will be an advantage but not essential as training will be given
