My partner and I will be looking for a house to rent from the beginning of March 2010 onwards in the Southampton area.

We are looking for a 2 or 3 bed house that will allow us to live sustainably. We care about the environment and would like some flexibility with gardening, allowing us to grow our own vegetables and have a compost heap. We'd also like to have a few hens if possible but this isn't essential.

We both have steady jobs.
We have one cat who is very well behaved.
We'd like gas central heating.
We are looking for a possible long term let.
Our maximum budget is £800 per month for rent.
